I. APPLICATION RULES
The Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition is open to participants of all nationalities, up to 30 years old.
Deadline for application and vídeo submission for the 1st round is May 10th, 2024.
Applications only for masterclasses are open until June 28th.

By completing and submitting the registration form each candidate agrees with the terms and conditions of the competition rules.
The original version of the competition rules governs over all interpretations.
The Organizer reserves the right to amend any part of the Event format, agenda or programme if necessary at any time.
II. PARTICIPATION FEE
The participation fee for Competition is:
Category A – 90 Euros
Category B – 90 Euros
Category C – 60 Euros
Category D – 40 Euros
The participation fee for Masterclasses is:
1 Hour – 55 Euros / Masterclasse

NOTE; The candidates that participate in the competition and in the Masterclasses, may make a unique Transfer.
The proof of the payment of the participation fee must be presented upon submitting your application form.
The participation fee will not be refunded in case of elimination after the first round, withdrawal or non-attendance at the competition.
III. FIRST ROUND
The first round will take place on May 10th, 2024 and will be carried out by an expert jury appointed by the organizer for each section of the Competition.
Candidates will upload a single video file to they’re Youtube Channel and paste the link in the place mencionated at the Registration Form
The video must comply with the following conditions:
• The video must be made specifically for the Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition 2024;
• Duration: between 10 and 15 minutes; (FOR THE CATEGORY D)
• Good audio-visual quality, any post-production editing is prohibited;
• No cuts are allowed between movements of the same work (e.g. between the movements of a sonata);
– Mobile phone recordings are allowed as long as the quality is audible and not distorted. Poor quality audios may be subject to rejection by the jury;
– Recordings must show the applicant’s upper part of the body as the right arm, the instrument in its entirety and the left hand.
• Where applicable, all works must include piano accompaniment. Orchestral accompaniment is prohibited;
• At the beginning of the video recording, candidates must present themselves, speaking in English, stating their full name, nationality, Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition 2024) and program chosen.
Example: I am John Smith, from the United Kingdom. This is my video recording for the first round for the Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition 2024. I will perform…(say the name of the works)
The results will be announced on this website (colocar link direto do separador do concurso) on April 30, 2024.
Competitors will receive official confirmation of their participation from the Competition Secretary.
IV. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
During the participation in the Competition, the organizer provides free accommodation for the candidates that will participate on the 2nd round and final round. Free Acomodation, will stop if candidates are not qualified to the final.
International transportation costs will be borne by the candidate.
The organizer will provide a Transfer from airport to the place where the competition is held and vice-versa.
The candidates who travel from Ukraine don’t pay any fee, upon making proof of travel ticket (Ex. Plain Ticket, Train Ticket, etc) from Ukraine.
V. AWARDS
The jury decides on the prizes to be awarded in each category of the Competition.
The Jury reserves the right not to award one or more prizes.
The prizes awarded in each category of the competition may not be divisible. No exceptions to this rule will be granted.

Concerts: The organisers award prizes consisting of concerts organised during the 2025 edition of the Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition, as well as concerts organised during the concert seasons of one of the principal orchestra in Portugal.
In addition to prizes awarded by the organiser, prizes may be awarded by partners and sponsors. Prizes from partners and sponsors may be combined.
The Organisers of the Aleksey Gorokhov International Violin Competition reserve the right to televise, broadcast, photograph, film and record on audio-video all performances in four categories of the competition.
VI. JURY
The Jury’s activity is based on the Competition Rules which follows the instructions of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC).
The Jury decides the prize winners of each category complying to the Jury Rules, according to the instructions of the organizers.
VII. REHEARSALS
At the request of the candidates, the organizers will provide a piano accompanist. In this case, each candidate will have one hour of free piano rehearsal to prepare for each stage.
Candidates who will choose to play with a personal piano accompanist will specify their name and contact details in the registration form. The travel and accommodation expenses of the personal piano accompanist are to be borne by the candidate.
