Born in 1977 in Santo Tirso, Portugal. At the age of 15, he toured Brazil, playing in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, São Paulo, Belém, Brasília, Recife, receiving an honorable mention from the São Paulo Conservatory of Music.
He was awarded in the Young Musicians competition in both categories, secondary and higher education, and also in the Portuguese Musical Youth competition. At 19, he was invited to join the Madeira Classical Orchestra, continuing his violin studies with Yuri Kiritchenko.
That same year, he won a government scholarship from the Autonomous Region of Madeira to continue his violin studies with Yuri Kiritchenko at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev, having been unanimously accepted after playing for the chair of violin teachers, where he was student of Nikolaev Gorohov (Yampolsky’s disciple).
He gave recitals and played alone in countries such as Portugal, Spain, France, Holland, Russia, Ukraine and the United States of America. He has played with orchestras such as Orquestra do Algarve, Norte Orquestra, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto, Orquestra das Beiras, Ensemble Remix, Orquestra Remix, Paris Opera, Orquestra Gulbenkian, among others. He played with maestros such as Baldur Brönnimann, Olari Elts, Leopold Hager, Michail Jurowski, Christoph König, Andris Nelsons, Vasily Petrenko, Emilio Pomàrico, Jérémie Rohrer, Peter Rundel, Michael Sanderling, Tugan Sokhiev, John Storgårds, Joseph Swensen, Gilbert Varga, Antoni Wit, Takuo Yuasa, Lothar Zagrosek, Peter Eötvös, Ilan Volkov, Lawrence Foster, etc.
In addition to his work on the concert platform, he has made forays into opera and music theater, music accompanying films, dance and jazz. Prominent composers are regularly invited to hold workshops alongside performances of their works, including Brice Pauset, Emmanuel Nunes, Frédéric Durieux, Heiner Goebbels, Iris ter Schiphorst, James Dillon, Magnus Lindberg, Mark-Anthony Turnage, Georges Aperghis, Helmut Lachenmann, Bernhard Lang, Matthias Pintscher, Harrison Birtwistle, David Horne, Wolfgang Mitterer, Hans Abrahamsen, Karin Rehnqvist, Jonathan Harvey, Kaija Saariaho.
He was concertmaster of the Orquestra Sifónica of the Region of Murcia (Spain) and concertmaster of the Orquestra Sinfónica de Torrevieja (Spain).
In 2016 he went on tour playing Four Seasons of Vivaldi and Piazzola in Seville, Santo Tirso, Porto, Lisbon, Algarve, Argentina and Brazil.
He has recorded for Rádio Clássica (RDP), including a live recording of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto.
